Earlier this week, President Trump made yet another damaging foreign policy decision by deciding to pull American troops out of northeast Syria, opening the door for Turkish forces to attack our Kurdish partners in Syria--the very partners who helped us smash ISIS.

This grave decision has enormous consequences:

-- It abandons our Kurdish partners in a time of need.
-- It betrays our troops who sacrificed alongside them to defeat ISIS.
-- It further damages our word as a nation.
-- It opens the door to allowing ISIS to rebuild and grow.

Make no mistake: Donald Trump’s erratic and incompetant policies are a threat to our national security.

Whether it is taking pressure off global terrorist organizations as he is doing now, or siding with the gun lobby over gun violence prevention, or pulling America out of international agreements--including to combat the existential threat of climate change, Donald Trump is making all of us less safe.

The long-term effects of these reckless decisions could last decades if we don’t defeat Donald Trump in 2020.
