Dear Neighbors,

Please be advised that Con Edison has reduced voltage in our area by 5 percent and made an Energy Conservation Request for the following Manhattan zip codes: 10025, 10024, 10023, 10069, and 10026.
  • Please limit use of washers, dryers, air conditioners, and other energy-intensive equipment, and turn off lights/televisions when not needed.
  • If you have two air conditioners, use only one and set it to the highest comfortable temperature.
If a power outage occurs:
  • Report the outage at www.coned.com/ReportOutage or call 800-75-CONED (26633). If you have a speech or hearing disability, report outages to 1-800-642-2308.
  • Keep refrigerator and freezer doors tightly closed to prevent food spoilage.
  • Do not use generators indoors.
  • Please stay safe. Never go near or touch a fallen power line. If you see a downed wire, call 1-800-75-CONED immediately.

The NYS Depts of Environmental Conservation and Health have issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the NYC metro and Long Island areas for Wednesday (6/30), from 11am through 11pm. The pollutant of concern is Ozone.

A heat advisory is in effect until 8pm this Wednesday (6/30), with heat index values reaching 103 degrees. The most intense heat will occur during the afternoon and early evening hours.

As temperatures soar, please stay safe and check on any neighbors who might need assistance.
  • Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at increased risk.
  • Homes without air conditioning can become much hotter than the outdoors over the course of the day.
  • Anyone working outdoors should use great caution -- heat stroke is an emergency! In cases of heat stroke, call 9-1-1.
  • For more information and safety tips on avoiding heat illness, visit www.NYC.gov/beattheheat.
NYCHA residents should call (718) 707-7771 or use the MyNYCHAapp to report heat-related issues in their buildings.
