Democrats in competitive districts have stood up to do the right thing and hold Trump accountable. Now the GOP is using it against them and hoping to shore up their base for another Trump win in 2020.

The GOP, led by none other than Mike Pence, is shelling out big bucks to travel across the country and attack impeachment-supporting Democrats in districts President Donald Trump won in 2016.

That includes a $2 million TV and digital buy targeting more than 60 Democrats.

It won’t work, but that’s not because they aren’t going to spend everything they have trying. It won’t work because we’re fighting back…and winning.

DFA is working with Indivisible, Free Speech for the People, Progressive Democrats for America, MoveOn and other organizations to hold counter protests and stop them in their tracks -- and in multiple cases, we’ve successfully out organized the pro-Trump organizers at their own events.

Our pro-impeachment counter-protest outnumbered them in South Carolina where Democrat Joe Cunningham is under attack after flipping SC-01 blue in 2018 for the first time in over 35 years. We beat them 4 to 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah where Democrat Ben McAdams is facing an onslaught of attacks and 2 to 1 in front of Democrat Charlie Crist’s office in St. Petersburg.

Added bonus: Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz personally organized THAT anti-impeachment rally but then didn’t show up when he saw his rally was outnumbered by ours.

But we’re not shutting them down everywhere. Trump supporters outnumbered us in Georgia where Democrat Lucy McBath, who narrowly won against the Republican incumbent in 2018, has several formidable Republicans trying to win their nomination to defeat her. One of her opponents even attended the second day of rallies generating earned media for himself in-district.

Make no mistake, John: the GOP believes their plan will secure them the White House in 2020, and maybe even allow them to take back the House. They’re doing whatever it takes to shore up their far-right base. Fighting back and beating them at their own game takes resources, so I have to ask:
