Dear John,
When a white supremacist targeted the home of an ADL regional director, the threat of violence was horrifying. But it was also motivating.
“It shows we’re shining a really bright light onto the issue of hate,” says the director, whose name is being withheld to protect their safety. “We’re making an impact. We’re a threat to their desire to wreak havoc and violence on different marginalized groups.”
But ADL can only fight antisemitism and hate of all kinds with your generous support. Please give again today when your gift of $50, $75 or $100 will automatically double to Fight Hate For Good!
Thanks to concerned citizens like you, ADL team members are on the front lines every day fighting hate and tracking the kinds of extremist groups that threatened our colleague. Your support allows us to collaborate with law enforcement to apprehend these criminals before their hate turns to violence.
You also help educate teachers, school administrators and civic leaders about how to identify and stop hate in their communities, creating a safer environment for all of us.
“Anybody speaking out against white supremacists, there’s the potential they might be targeted,” our regional director says. “The point of what these extremists are doing is to silence people and victimize them so they don’t use their voice.”
Use your voice right now. Make a generous gift to help ADL fight antisemitism and hate!
Your support is making a difference. When our regional director’s home was targeted for an attack, the Atomwaffen Division made their plans online — plans that were discovered by the FBI.
After they mailed a threatening poster to the home, four men were arrested, and ADL provided support to law enforcement. Now, the organizer of the dangerous extremists, Cameron Shea, awaits sentencing on multiple charges that will take him off the streets for years.
John, all of us here at ADL know first-hand what’s at stake in the battle against antisemitism and hate. Please help us fight!
Give now and your gift doubles to make twice the impact!
