Friends –

Last Wednesday we opened up the ninth round of our COVID-19 Rapid Response Grant Round, which supports LGBTQ Southerners impacted by the pandemic with emergency funding that can be used toward groceries, rent, medicine, and more.

One thing that’s remained consistent throughout the Southern Equality Fund grant rounds? The money goes fast - because the need is still overwhelming. On Wednesday we received enough applications to distribute $50K in 50 minutes.

Our team has worked hard to create faster, more efficient systems to help us get funds to folks in need as quickly as we can. For example, this is the third round of grants that we’ll process via electronic payment.

Today, Give OUT Day, is the last day in our month-long campaign to raise money for the Southern Equality Fund and support these grants. Today, on Give OUT Day, can you help us cross the finish line with your donation of $50, $15, or what you’re able to give? Click here to donate.

After the applications flooded in on Wednesday and we were forced to close the grant round, we heard from so many LGBTQ Southerners who were hurting and needed assistance. That’s why we’re working to raise funds for more rounds now. Folks may be getting vaccinated, and communities are beginning to reopen, but the pandemic wrecked havoc for millions of Southerners, and for people who lost family members and friends, jobs, or other income, the recovery will take a long time.

We’re humbled that through our Southern Equality Fund we’ve been able to support our community with these grants – but we can’t do it without the help of generous donors like you.

Chip in $50, $15, or what you’re able to with your donation today, on Give OUT Day, by clicking here.

Thank you,
Allison Scott
