Falling short means leaving crucial funds behind that our lawyers, experts, and advocates NEED to fight for waters from your neighborhood to Nepal and beyond.
The fiscal year — and this match — ends at midnight tonight, and it’s difficult not to feel nervous.
It’s my charge to ensure that our attorneys, experts, and advocates have what they need to mount the most ambitious fight possible for our waters in the next fiscal year.
Top of our list? Restoring the Clean Water Act to its original intent, ensuring it is implemented and enforced as Congress intended. That means:
Pushing federal agencies to clarify that the Act protects most waterways;
Urging President Biden to restore state authority to block or condition federal permits based on water quality concerns; and
Updating the statute to better address runoff from factory farms.
