Belz to FHFA: CUs play important role in housing market
Kaua'i Government Employees Federal Credit Union CEO Monica Belz yesterday delivered remarks on behalf of NAFCU at the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) listening session on sustainable homeownership.

CFPB supervisory highlights showcase wide range of violations
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) today issued a report highlighting legal violations from the agency's 2020 examinations. The agency issued $124 million in remediation and civil money penalties as a result of its 2020 enforcement actions.

New BSA Blast details updates from FinCEN, FFIEC
A new edition of NAFCU's BSA Blast – in its user-friendly digital format with direct links to each section – is now available on the association's website. The second quarter issue details updates from the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).

FHFA announces prohibition on foreclosure filings for GSE-backed mortgages until CFPB mortgage foreclosure rule takes effect
The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Tuesday announced it will prohibit foreclosure filings on loans sold to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) – before the CFPB's new mortgage foreclosure rule takes effect Aug. 31.
