Friends -- Exciting news! Allied Progress is joining Accountable.US to bring all of our work taking on powerful special interests under one roof.
Don't worry: You'll still get emails about how you can help protect consumers by holding policymakers and predatory financial institutions accountable -- they'll just have a new name at the top.
Fortunately, with the Trump era behind us, we no longer have to battle industry shills like Betsy DeVos and Mick Mulvaney in the executive branch. But that doesn't mean our work is finished -- far from it. There are many in Congress who are happy to allow corporations and institutions to prey on American consumers. And until that stops, we'll have a job to do.
Here are some of the projects we're working on at Accountable.US:
Drop The Chamber: Urging companies to uphold their commitment to voting rights by cutting ties with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is currently opposed to major voting rights reform legislation and has a long history backing voter suppression efforts.
Campaign Against Corporate Complicity: Preventing the normalization of the cruel and undemocratic actions of the Trump administration by ensuring that companies scrutinize former officials looking to sell their government experience as a qualification.
Polluters Exposed: Exposing the influence of oil and gas CEOs and their attempts to block progress on addressing climate change.
Holding accountable Members of Congress who supported the January 6 insurrection -- and the corporations and trade associations that continue to fund them.
And of course, we'll continue to advocate for student loan borrowers and consumers and expose the politicians who would allow them to be preyed on.
Take a minute to check out Accountable.US and learn about all of this work. And make sure to keep an eye out for Accountable.US in your inbox! This is the last email we will send from Allied Progress.
Looking forward to making change together,
The Accountable.US (formerly Allied Progress) Team
