Friend: I'm the most vulnerable incumbent Senate Democrat up for reelection next year, and I need your help. While I've spent my first months in office providing pandemic relief to struggling families, fighting for our voting rights and delivering on our progressive priorities, extremist Republicans are doing everything they can to attack me and smear my record.

Here's why: Experts at POLITICO say that Democrats' chances of defending our razor-thin majority hinge on keeping Georgia blue. This race will decide Senate control – but while GOP megadonors and dark-money groups have millions to spend to try and buy this seat, we're running a people-powered campaign that relies on grassroots support. And unfortunately, with time running out before our critical end-of-quarter FEC deadline, we're falling dangerously short of our $100,000 goal.

As a kid who grew up in public housing, I know what it's like to be counted out before you even get started. But through hard work and the support of my family and community, I was able to graduate from college and went on to become the senior pastor at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s church. Now, I'm proudly serving as the first Black senator in Georgia's history.

But with the Senate split 50-50, Republicans need to flip only one seat to win back control – and NBC News confirms that they're coming after me as their top target for defeat.

If we fail to keep Georgia blue, Mitch McConnell will retake full control and block our Democratic agenda at every turn. That's why we've got to fight back now – and it's why falling short of goals like this isn't an option.
