It’s me, Margaret, Cheri Beasley’s finance director. Our first official FEC deadline is tomorrow, so I’ll get straight to the point: We are still a bit short of our fundraising goal.

This is a big moment for us to show everyone that we have what it takes to flip this Senate seat and make history.

Everyone knows that Cheri is the ONLY Democrat in this race who has won statewide, and right now, she’s leading in the polls.

As the frontrunner, all eyes will be on our fundraising numbers. People want to see that we have the resources necessary to build the kind of campaign it takes to win — a large-scale, people-powered, operation that stretches from Murphy to Manteo.

What we do at this deadline will set the tone for the campaign, so we cannot afford to fall short. We need a strong showing to prove that Democrats can win this seat in 2022.
