John, Mitch McConnell may not be Majority Leader anymore, but he's still a thorn in our sides obstructing every ounce of progress Democrats try to make. He's also doing everything he can to flip the Senate red – and Catherine is one of his top targets.

I worked closely with Catherine when she served as Chair of the Senate Democrats' campaign arm last year, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who works harder in support of our mission or cares more about our shared progressive values. And her efforts took back the Senate. 

And now, the GOP and outside groups have already spent nearly $1 million in attack ads to defeat her. Catherine's falling dangerously short of her $250,000 end-of-quarter goal when she needs a strong showing against these GOP attacks, so I told her I'd reach out. If we don't help her close the gap right now, she won't have the resources she needs to defend this seat – and there's a good chance we'll lose our Democratic Senate majority if she loses in Nevada.

I'm counting on you to chip in today to help Catherine reach this critical goal before tomorrow's FEC deadline: Please, rush $5 – or more if you can – before midnight to keep Nevada and the Senate blue.

That near $1 million they've spent so far is nothing compared to the nearly $50 million national Republicans funneled into Nevada in 2016 – and Catherine only won that race by two points. Now, CNN is calling her one of the most vulnerable Democratic senators, and election forecasters say the extremist candidate McConnell has handpicked to run against her could actually win.

Catherine was instrumental in flipping the Senate blue – frankly, we couldn't have done it without her – but now she needs our help to defend Nevada's critical seat, defend our Senate majority and keep our country moving in the right direction. I'll be completely honest with you, John: Holding onto the Senate will be that much harder if we let Catherine miss this goal and fall behind the GOP's astronomical spending in this race. So I mean it when I say your gift right now could not be more important.

Please, will you join me and rush $5 before midnight tonight to support Catherine's reelection in Nevada? Every dollar you can spare will help protect this critical seat and defend our Democratic Senate majority.
