We are witnessing stunning and unprecedented attempts by centralized powers to control our lives. This includes “canceling” information not deemed politically correct and restricting who we interact with and where, supposedly in the name of public health.
However, the human spirit simply cannot be quashed, to the dismay of many of our political and cultural elites. The responses by many to think critically, scientifically, and morally, and to innovate and engage with others, is highly encouraging.
At the Independent Institute, we have produced many publications and other resources to help people make informed decisions and positively impact their lives to advance the ideas, institutions, and practice of liberty. Our resources follow the truth, not merely politically opportune public opinion.
Will you consider making a gift of $50, $100, $250, or even $500 before the end of the fiscal year (tomorrow, June 30)?

Here is just a sampling of the key resources we published over the past twelve months:
- Our book Hot Talk, Cold Science: Global Warming’s Unfinished Debate (Revised and Expanded Third Edition) By Research Fellows S. Fred Singer, David R. Legates and Anthony R. Lupo. We published this book to set the record straight on climate change and help people sift through what passes for science in the media and government.
- Our book Really Good Schools: Global Lessons for High-Caliber, Low-Cost Education, by Senior Fellow Dr. James Tooley. In light of the many failures of public education over the past year, especially the school closures, this book presents a proven model of low-cost, high-quality private schools. Now, parents, teachers, and entrepreneurs can pursue a proven and successful alternative path for educating their children.
- Our Recommended Readings, prepared by Senior Fellow Dr. Williamson Evers, which offers authoritative, annotated reading lists on key topics such as the folly of socialism, race and civil rights, police reform, K-12 curriculum, higher education, and much more. Parents, educators, and students are using these resources to understand these subjects much better than our cultural and political elites.

It is clear that many elites have lost sight of objective truth, science, ethics, and common sense. When they are unable to persuade, they resort to bullying, censorship, and mandates. However, and in response, most people are becoming increasingly repulsed by such intolerance and coercion and are seeking out the truth instead.
Tomorrow is the end of our fiscal year. At this time, please consider supporting our efforts to share the critical information left out by our politically correct elites and help people make informed decisions.
