Tomorrow marks the end of the first half of 2021 and the second financial quarter, too!

It also just happens to coincide with the end of our five-month 2021 legislative session, and I especially wanted to highlight some of what we've accomplished. Here are some of the bills I supported and testified on that will soon become law:


Student Borrowers "Bill of Rights": regulating loan servicers; creating a student loan ombudsperson;
Making online sales of vaping devices illegal;
Protecting personal information collected online by contact tracing apps;
Requiring safe gun storage and keeping guns out of the Capitol and schools.
And there's a lot more where that came from! I'm so proud to be serving Oregonians as the People's Attorney. Honestly, I never imagined when I graduated from law school, spent time in private practice defending the rights of juveniles and adults charged with crimes, served as a federal prosecutor, and after that, had a long career as a judge, I'd find myself serving my third term as AG after all that. But here I am!

The work is incredibly challenging, but rewarding, too. And, it is more important than ever to work as a team of Democratic AGs across the country to expand voting rights, combat systemic racism, address the climate crisis, protect reproductive freedoms, and so much more.

I'm looking forward to the progressive strides that we'll continue making this year to move Oregon and our country forward. But it's not going to be easy. Republicans are attempting to dismantle Democratic progress at every level, and I need you in my corner.
