John, in a moment, I'm going to ask you to make a donation to Brady before their upcoming fiscal-year deadline. But before I do, I want you to know why I care so much about helping Brady achieve its life-saving mission.

My daughter, Jaime, was murdered by a gunman armed with a military-style assault weapon during the 2018 Parkland massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She was hunted down in the halls of her own school. Ever since Jaime was murdered, I've dedicated my life to making sure no parent or family has to carry the loss that I do.

It was infuriating to realize that some of the people I'd have to fight hardest against would be the very people elected to keep Americans safe. But the NRA has bought and paid for so many seedy politicians who now have blood on their hands — like Mitch McConnell, who made the Senate a graveyard for an assault weapons ban and even universal background checks, which could have saved Jaime’s life.

Brady knows we can't let the NRA and its pocket politicians dictate who lives and dies in this country. Brady works every single day to take real, meaningful action and help pass the gun safety laws we know can save lives. And right now, they've helped build more momentum for change than we've had in years. That's why the NRA is spending $2 MILLION to stop Brady — and why this update is so urgent:

Brady is falling dangerously short of their $70,000 fiscal-year goal — even with every dollar being DOUBLED by their Board of Directors between now and the deadline.  As a grassroots organization, they rely on donations from people like you — so how much they raise today determines how much they can do tomorrow:

So, please, John, will you rush $5 or more now — every dollar you can spare to have DOUBLED — to help Brady hit their goal before their fiscal year ends, defeat the NRA, and pass life-saving gun safety laws? Every gift Brady raises today can help prevent more tragedies like Parkland — and ensure no family ever has to feel the loss I do every day.

Though the pain hasn't stopped since Jaime was murdered, I have hope for the first time in a while. We have two gun violence prevention champions in the White House and gun safety majorities in Congress. Change is on the horizon — but not without your support today, John.

One of Jaime's favorite quotes was "dreams and dedication are a powerful combination." I know Brady is dedicated to saving the lives of so many dreamers, just like Jaime was — they just need your help to do it.

I hope you’ll join us and make a donation to this fight today.

Thank you.
