Dear Neighbors,
A heat advisory is in effect until 8pm this Wednesday (6/30), with heat index values reaching 103 degrees. The most intense heat will occur during the afternoon and early evening hours.
As temperatures soar, please stay safe and check on any neighbors who might need assistance.
- Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at increased risk.
- Homes without air conditioning can become much hotter than the outdoors over the course of the day.
- Anyone working outdoors should use great caution -- heat stroke is an emergency! In cases of heat stroke, call 9-1-1.
- For more information and safety tips on avoiding heat illness, visit www.NYC.gov/beattheheat.
