We have just one chance at this.

President Biden announced a compromise infrastructure package last week —
and the bipartisan deal is a step in the right direction, but it's not
nearly enough.

Now, Congress must finish the job by passing Biden's full American Jobs
Plan, which will drive an equitable recovery with strong action on climate
change, clean energy, and job creation.

The American Jobs Plan is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to pass the
strongest climate legislation of our lifetimes and create the
far-reaching, equitable change the country — and our planet — needs.

But short-sighted members of Congress, led by Mitch McConnell and Kevin
McCarthy, are scheming to delay, water down, and even kill the plan
altogether. And unless we fight back hard, they could succeed.

That's why the NRDC Action Fund just launched our biggest-ever
mobilization campaign to pass the American Jobs Plan — but what happens
next will depend on supporters like you.

[ [link removed]- ]You can help by rushing an urgent donation to the NRDC Action Fund
today. Because this fight is so important, every contribution is being
MATCHED until MIDNIGHT TOMORROW »

Your gift will be put to work right away to help ramp up pressure on
members of Congress and recruit thousands of grassroots activists to flood
their senators' and representatives' offices with letters and phone calls
in support of the American Jobs Plan.

The clock
is running out on climate change. Science shows that we have less than a
decade to cut carbon pollution in half to avert climate catastrophe.

Meanwhile, right now, a dangerous heat wave is sweeping the Pacific
Northwest. And across the country, communities continue to experience
hotter temperatures and more severe storms, droughts, wildfires, and
floods. Millions of households are breathing polluted air and drinking
toxic water on a daily basis.

And low-income, Black, brown, and Indigenous communities
disproportionately bear the burdens of neighborhood pollution and global
climate change.

We need change — and we need it fast.

With slim majorities in the House and Senate, passing the American Jobs
Plan THIS year could be our best chance to confront the climate crisis
head-on, fix our crumbling infrastructure, invest in our communities, and
move to a 100% clean energy future before it's too late.

[ [link removed]- ]What do you say — will you make a
donation while your gift will go twice as far to power this campaign?

Right now, members of Congress are back in their home states for Fourth of
July recess. As soon as they get back to Washington, negotiations on the
American Jobs Plan will resume.

With thousands of NRDC Action Fund supporters like you on our side, I know
we can win — and [ [link removed]- ]your gift right now will help us escalate our campaign
at this crucial time.

The fight ahead of us will require unprecedented levels of energy,
organizing, advocacy — and resources. But the results will be nothing
short of transformational. [ [link removed]- ]I hope I can count on you to be a part of
it.

When your grandchildren ask you what you did to help solve the climate
crisis, you can tell them that when the biggest fight for bold climate
action came to Congress, you made it possible. Thank you.

Sincerely,
[5]Kevin
