Hi John,
It’s a simple fact, when we modernize the American auto industry we reduce pollution and save families hard-earned money at the gas pump.
But to spur innovation, states across the country need to be able to set more protective standards for vehicular air pollution. Because when states take the lead on clean car standards, they can serve as testing grounds for innovation and incentivize the development of technologies that are deployed across the world!
To reach our zero-emissions future we need states to help lead the way. Tell the EPA to restore state leadership on vehicle pollution regulation under the Clean Air Act before the comment deadline ends on July 6th!
Since 2012, rigorous Clean Car Standards have reduced health-harming and climate pollution, cut fuel prices and accelerated the adoption of zero-emission vehicles. However in 2019, the Trump Administration took the unprecedented and unlawful step of revoking state authority to set greenhouse gas and zero-emission vehicle standards — impeding innovation for clean cars, trucks and SUVs.
Before Trump’s attack on Clean Car Standards, 15 states had already adopted progressive policies to curb climate pollution from cars. The EPA’s decision on whether to rescind this dangerous Trump policy, will be pivotal for these states and for the additional states looking to push ahead with more ambitious clean vehicle initiatives and go even further than the federal government.
Together we can spur innovation in transportation! Send a powerful message to the EPA and urge them to overturn dangerous Trump policies that hold us back!
Thank you for being a climate champion,
Wes Rogerson
