Friend, infrastructure negotiations have led the news out of Washington this week as Congress prepares to pass a historic investment in our nation’s critical infrastructure.

A lot of it can be confusing. So we want to break through the noise and make one thing clear: an infrastructure package must include serious investments to build a green economy and address climate change.

Republicans have shown they will oppose major environmental measures in an infrastructure package. So we need Democrats to stand together right now.

We're at a defining moment in the fight against climate change. We've continued to experience record temperatures and seen an increase in storms and destructive natural events. The scientific community has warned us that time is quickly running out to reverse the long-term effects of climate change.

We're now in the process of getting our climate policy back on track after four disastrous years of an anti-science administration. But we have a very narrow window to make the necessary investments in clean and renewable energy.

We can create millions of jobs and give our children a chance to inherit a clean planet. But we have to act fast and make the case that the environment is infrastructure.
