Dear supporter,

We invite you to join us on a digital security journey and explore our new and updated Heartmob online harassment resources

We started Heartmob five years ago to address the issues of online harassment that plagued the online spaces, and to create a platform where folks who experience online harassment can receive support from a community of vetted heartmobbers. In 2021, the problem of online harassment and abuse has not disappeared, but has evolved as more of our lives and work moved to online spaces.

New digital platforms like TikTok and Zoom offer endless possibilities for connection, but as many of us have experienced, they can become toxic and even dangerous breeding grounds for online abuse and harassment.

In response to this, our Heartmob team has worked hard to update and create new digital safety resources.

Our updated resource page includes a range of different materials, starting with a guide to understand the scope of online harassment, a look at who is most affected, and the resulting impacts. Next, a resource guide that provides a basic breakdown of how to respond to online harassment. There are also detailed guides on different social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram, self-care guides, and information on supportive organizations.

We hope our digital security kit, and all the other helpful tools we have created and updated can help you feel secure and supported in the face of online harassment, but we also know it’s a lot of information to navigate on your own.

To help you digest all our updated and new resources, we have decided to give you your next steps, in the form of weekly action items through posts on our social media this summer. Make sure to follow us, and save our posts to check off the action items when you have a few minutes.

These small actions we’ll recommend can have a big impact on your digital safety.

With Love,

Hollaback!
