John,
The auditorium at Houston Baptist University was packed and alive with excitement for a NEW direction in Houston tonight. So many of you turned out to support me. I can't tell you how much it means to me to see your familiar faces in the audience at every single event.
But I can tell you this, you energize me like nothing else can. The past 11 months has been a labor of love for me. I love this city, I love Houstonians, I love the opportunities we have and I refuse to let corruption continue to rule at City Hall.
“ Government will spend every penny you give them without relation to the job that needs to be done.“ When asked about what my role as Mayor would be in addressing the criticism with the Harding Street raid and the Houston firefighters vote of no confidence in Fire Chief Sam Pena, I explained that there’s a fatal problem when there is a systemic lack in leaders.
When asked how I would have handled Hurricane Harvey differently, I pointed out that:
“Hugs don’t work, handing out water bottles don’t work.”
What does work is mobilizing the entire Houston Fire Department. What is in the best interest of Houston residents is to notify them when reservoirs are being released. We can do better.
You won’t believe Sylvester Turner’s response time the question:
“The response by the city during Hurricane Harvey was exceptional.”
Politicians talk. I get results. Did you know that early voting is TEN days away, on October 21.
Join me at my Buzbee-Q Meet and Greet and early voting rally:
Sunday, October 20
Tickets are limited, but free! Get them here. Sincerely, Tony Buzbee
