It’s been a long day. Here’s what’s next for our movement.

Hey John —

I’m emailing you a little later than usual because it’s been a long day.

Today, more than 500 of us traveled to Washington, D.C. to insist that Joe Biden stop putting climate on the back burner to please the GOP. AOC, Jamaal Bowman, and Cori Bush came out to rally the crowd. Dozens of Sunrisers were arrested. We blockaded all ten (!!) entrances to the White House.

Oh, and we did it all in sweltering 90+ degree heat.

We didn’t travel all this way and put our bodies on the line for nothing. Just days ago, Biden agreed to yet another watered-down framework for his infrastructure bill — one of the only big pieces of legislation expected to be passed by Congress this year, and our best chance to win the first part of the Green New Deal.

So we mobilized our movement, we spelled out our demands again for Biden, and we made sure everyone in the White House could hear what we had to say. But Biden still hasn’t met our demands, John — and we’re not going to shut up until he does.

We have to keep bringing the heat to Biden all summer long. Will you join us for a call tomorrow night to hear what’s next from Sunrise and how you can get involved with our movement?

We won’t be silent. We’re going to keep fighting for as long as it takes to win the Green New Deal that we know we need.

Join us tomorrow night at 8:00 pm ET for a mass call to talk about our strategy from here on out and our next big action coming up in July.

See you tomorrow,
Ellen, Sunrise
