Hi ,

Summer is here — and the end of the pandemic is in sight. Our state’s reopening and the steady decline in COVID-19 infections and related deaths has brought us renewed hope for recovery.

This milestone for California comes as one in every five infections in the U.S. is now linked to the new and more transmissible Delta variant. To avoid another surge in infections in our city, we must continue to do everything we can to protect ourselves and each other.

We have an advantage in this fight against COVID-19: the vaccine. 67% of L.A. County residents have received their first dose and 58% of residents are fully vaccinated. We are on the right track, but it’s critical that we continue to encourage Angelenos 12 years and older to roll up their sleeves for their first and second doses.

Here are the facts you need to know:
* ELIGIBLE NOW: The vaccine is still available at no cost ([link removed]) and without an appointment for anyone 12 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a signed consent form ([link removed]) to receive the authorized Pfizer vaccine. Those who are 18 years and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
* VACCINATION SITES: There are over 800+ vaccination sites across L.A. County. Many sites are open until 8 p.m. so that everyone — no matter their schedule — can get the vaccine. Find a site near you by visiting Coronavirus.LACity.org/GetVaccinated ([link removed]) . Appointments are not required but if you’d like to register for your vaccine ahead of time or need help, you can reach out to the County’s Call Center between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. daily at (833) 540-0473. Remember to bring proof of age to the site.
* BY THE NUMBERS: The City of Los Angeles has administered 1,357,307 vaccine doses at our City-run vaccination sites and mobile clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and fire stations.

* VACCINE SWEEPSTAKES: If you have not received the vaccine, you could enter for a chance to win tickets to see your favorite sports teams, musicians, and more. Right now, anyone 18 years and older who books an appointment to get vaccinated at select sites ([link removed]) can enter to win grand prizes to Six Flags Magic Mountain, LA Zoo, Natural History Museum/La Brea Tar Pits, and the California Science Center. The sweepstakes are running until Thursday, July 1. Visit PublicHealth.LACounty.gov ([link removed]) for the latest information.
* STAY INFORMED: As we continue expanding our vaccination efforts, it’s important to get the latest news.

If you’re already vaccinated, please urge your friends, family members, and neighbors to get vaccinated, too. Share the “Protect and Respect” art series to remind others that we can all do our part to end the pandemic ([link removed]) .

These posters, available in English and Spanish, were created in partnership with Studio Number One, a Los Angeles creative studio founded by artist Shepard Fairey, to encourage Angelenos to get vaccinated. Print them, post them at home and in your store windows, and share them with others.

The fight doesn’t end with one person. As we look forward to gatherings with our loved ones this summer, let’s all do our part so we can continue to be together.

Stay healthy and be safe.
