Yes, gerrymandering in Texas could help Republicans take back the House. The same is true for gerrymandering in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and a host of other states.

That's why the NDRC doesn't work just in one state or at one level. We have a multi-pronged strategy spanning more than a dozen states and the federal level to prevent GOP map manipulation and other anti-democratic tactics all across the country. But because of the scope of our work, we can't carry it out without your support.

Wednesday is the halfway point of the year and a huge end-of-quarter fundraising deadline. Can you rush a donation to help us hit our $175,000 goal so we can fight Republican cheating all over the country?

I want to remind you what's at stake in states like Texas:

"State Republicans have long used their advantage to enact conservative legislation even as [Texas] as a whole has drifted toward the center. This year alone the party in power passed one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country and a separate measure loosening restrictions on hand gun ownership. Republicans are also aiming to pass a bill rolling back voter protections…" -- PBS


The fact is, gerrymandering allows Republicans to ignore what voters want and pass their extreme agenda instead. And that's why as the redistricting process begins in states across the country, it's so important for us to stop them.
