Jamaal is one of the few lawmakers currently in Congress who unapologetically advocates for our progressive agenda and challenges the status quo. He's also one of the few lawmakers who doesn't accept campaign contributions from lobbyists and corporate PACs — meaning our work is largely supported by individual contributions from emails just like this one.
Even though this makes fundraising a bit more challenging for us, we know that relying on the support of grassroots donors is the right way to run things. We'd rather demonstrate our strength through our people, rather than following the lead of the establishment and serving the interests of corporations, billionaires, and the outrageously wealthy.
The political establishment knows this, too, and they know that our people-powered campaign is capable of beating them. But we have to continue demonstrating our strength and remain competitive, which is why meeting our end-of-fundraising deadline this time around is so critical — and as we get closer to Primary Day 2022, which is now exactly a year from today.
