First, not only are they refusing to defend democracy and the freedom to vote, they're actively attacking it. They've introduced more than 400 bills to restrict voting rights in the states. They're purging party members who don't buy into Donald Trump's Big Lie about the 2020 election being stolen. They're going after election processes and election officials so that next time they'll have a better chance of seizing power -- even when Democrats win.

But we're fighting. We're working as hard as we can to PASS BILLS LIKE THE FOR THE PEOPLE ACT, H.R. 1, that will protect democracy. The fight for our democracy will take all of us, John, so I hope I can count on your support. Before Wednesday's deadline, will you pitch in to help HMP elect strong Democrats who will pass H.R. 1?

What's at stake here is more than just one election -- if the GOP takes the House next year, people like Kevin McCarthy and Matt Gaetz will be in charge, AND Trump will be emboldened to run for president again in 2024.

What's at stake is whether America continues to be a democracy or not. That's not an exaggeration. Republicans know they can't win a contest of ideas with their extreme, far-right agenda, so their plan is to seize power through undemocratic means.

I don't think I need to tell you how bad things could get if they win. But conversely, if Democrats win we'll be able to build on the progress we've already made this year by helping families and businesses fully recover from the pandemic, continuing to slash child poverty, passing gun violence prevention measures, and much, much more!

It's all on the line in the next election, and if we wait until the day before to act, it will be too late. I need you now, John. Will you donate to HMP to help elect Democrats who will fight to save democracy and ensure a bright future for all Americans?
