Tour of Vulcan Materials Company

I was in El Mirage this week to visit Vulcan Materials Company and speak with employees. Vulcan employs more than 300 people in Arizona at 15 different facilities— five of which are right here in Congressional District 8!

Arizona's District 8 Congressional Recognition

Ken from my office presented Kristin Slice, a West Valley native, with Arizona’s District 8 Congressional Recognition for her work with Peoria Forward and One Million Cups. Peoria Forward is a partnership between Arizona State University Entrepreneurship + Innovation and the City of Peoria which provides tools, innovations, and support to leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators to build a self-sustaining entrepreneurial ecosystem in the West Valley. Kristin also organizes One Million Cups, a networking group that is dedicated to bringing together outside the box thinkers and young entrepreneurs ready to pitch their ideas to the community. By bringing young entrepreneurs and innovators together with Peoria Forward and One Million Cups, Kristin helps the West Valley thrive. Thank you, Kristin, for your work in our community to foster the entrepreneurial spirit!
