John,

My latest trip back to PA-05 was jam-packed with meetings and community events. Here’s a quick recap of some of the things I did while in the district!

This year’s Marple Newtown and East Lansdowne Fourth of July parades were a blast!

Ran into members of Laborers Local 413 at the Marple Newtown parade. I’m proud to have the support of our community’s hard-working unions!

I also helped start the annual bike races at Swarthmore’s 4th of July festivities!

This past week wasn’t all just parades and barbecues. I met with constituents around the district to hear about their top legislative concerns -- like these college students who want to see Washington make progress on healthcare policy.

I also joined local officials and over 200 members of our community to address last month’s explosion at the Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery. We are waiting on answers from investigators but, in the meantime, we’re doing everything we can to ensure that our region is kept safe and our workers are able to continue providing for their families.

For now, it’s back to Washington to continue fighting for healthcare and jobs and to oppose this administration’s corruption and actions to undermine our democracy. I’m also working on increasing accountability in our student loan system through the Relief for Defrauded Students Act of 2019, which I’m co-leading with Rep. Lucy McBath and others, to provide aid to students who are taken advantage of by predatory lenders. I will continue pushing forward on these issues and bringing Pennsylvanians’ priorities to the forefront of our congressional agenda. Thanks for following along, and stay tuned for more updates!
