When I got into politics eight years ago, I made a simple promise to myself to always fight for what I believe in and it’s always been an honour to have you at my side as we’ve all worked together to fight climate change, grow our middle class, and build a better Canada.
We’ve done some pretty awesome things together, friend.
When I got into politics eight years ago, I made a simple promise to myself to always fight for what I believe in – and it’s always been an honour to have you at my side as we’ve all worked together to fight climate change, grow our middle class, and build a better Canada. While I announced earlier today that I won’t be running again in the next election, the work that Justin Trudeau and our Liberal government are doing is more important than ever.
It’s a time for hope as we all look forward to getting back to doing more of the things we love, and as we all do our part to finish the fight against COVID-19 and build back better.
Our Liberal government is continuing to do everything it takes to keep Canadians safe and supported, and as always, friend, it’s your support that makes it possible. This is a crucial moment to move forward with bold action to create new jobs and support small businesses, build a robust economic recovery that leaves no one behind, accelerate the fight against climate change, and build a more inclusive and resilient Canada – and I will continue to support that work in every way I can.
While we are focused on making real progress that Canadians are counting on, Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives have tried everything they can to block important legislation – including steps that would ban anti-LGBTQ2 conversion therapy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help fight climate change, and deliver support for Canadians families and workers.
This is an important moment, friend, and especially in a minority Parliament, it’s crucial that our whole team can count on your support so we can keep moving Canada forward.
We are quickly approaching our end-of-Q2 deadline and 3,803 Canadians have already chipped in online to help us build on our important progress. With your support, we can keep growing our team in every part of Canada, connecting with even more Canadians about their priorities, and investing in volunteers and resources that will help us keep building a better future.
If you’re able, chip in now to support our progress – and then share your Best Idea for a Better Canada and enter to win a virtual hangout with Justin Trudeau and four of your friends!
Thanks again, see you soon I hope, and wishing you all my best,
Catherine McKenna MP for Ottawa Centre
