Then it's all eyes on Ohio for the fourth Democratic presidential primary debate on Tuesday night. Here's what Chairman David Pepper said about Westerville, the site of the debate, on WCMH's The Spectrum last weekend: [link removed]:

"This part of the state, not just the City of Columbus, but the suburbs in Franklin County, it's becoming real ground zero in terms of some of the shifts we are seeing in voting. You are seeing a huge shift of women voters in suburbs that are turning areas that were red, blue."

The Cleveland Plain Dealer also looked at how Westerville and Franklin County's suburban communities are trending blue: [link removed]:

In Westerville, the GOP outpolled Democrats, 56% to 42%, in the races for the U.S. House, U.S. Senate and president in 2012. With the Senate and House up for grabs in 2018, Democrats won the Westerville vote, 56% to 43%.

Dublin went from a 26-point Republican win in 2012 to a 4-point Democratic win in 2018. Upper Arlington went from 12 points in favor of the Republicans in 2012 to 11 points in favor of the Democrats in 2018. And in Worthington, the winning margin for Democrats swelled from 7 points in 2012 to 37 points in 2018.

Ahead of the debate, Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez will join Pepper, along with Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, state Rep. Allison Russo and state Rep. Beth Liston for a roundtable to talk about how important the issue of health care is for suburban voters. [link removed]
