This is going to be one of the longest emails I send you, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to read it over.
I want to outline below how my team and I intend to win this battleground district -- as the first Democrat to win re-election in this district in nearly a century, perfectly executing our campaign plan is key.
That’s why I’m humbly asking if you will make a donation toward my team’s FEC public reporting goal: we’re currently behind and need your help to catch up → [[link removed]]
Step One: Organize Throughout the Entire District
In the past two elections, national Republican dark money groups have spent millions of dollars attacking me. The National Republican Congressional Committee went up with attack ads against me before I could sponsor my first piece of legislation, and they launched a new wave of attacks just days after I was sworn into my second term.
Our opposition has been working hard, but so are we -- my team is holding virtual and in-person events and contacting voters in every corner of the district. Your donations allow us to run a successful organizing operation.
Step Two: Stand Up To Special Interests and Put People First
I am proud to stand up to the gun lobby, predatory student loan companies, and Big Pharma giants that continue to increase the price of life-saving medications.
That’s the only way we’re going to keep our communities safe, ensure that every American can access a quality education, and help the millions of Americans who struggle with rising health care costs.
But that also means outside groups are going to do everything they can to push me out. This campaign has always been powered by supporters like you, not special interests who want to push an agenda that enriches their coffers.
Step Three: Focus On The Issues That Matter
Part of the reason I'm able to persuade swing voters in a historically Republican district is by focusing on the issues that matter.
For some, that’s big picture issues like addressing climate change or finding ways to support small businesses and manufacturers here at home. For others, it’s the issues that don’t get so much attention -- like helping municipal recycling programs or increasing funding for STEM programs geared toward young students. Both are incredibly important and I make it a priority to have these conversations, whether I’m talking to a Democrat or a Republican.
Outside groups are trying to distract from my work on the issues and to slander my record. That’s why we have to send you emails like these, so my team can have the resources to respond and set the record straight -- on big issues and less-discussed issues alike.
I’m giving this campaign everything I’ve got -- but right now, my team is telling me we’re falling behind on this major FEC deadline. That’s why I’m asking if you can rush in a donation, of whatever you can spare. [[link removed]]
