Hey, John — it's Rachel, Executive Director at Women's March.
Earlier today I met with our finance team to go over our fundraising numbers and make sure we have the funding it will take to combat the wave of attacks happening currently on our reproductive freedom.
Right now, we’re $6,000 short from reaching our Reproductive Justice Fund goal before the end-of-quarter deadline this Wednesday.
Women’s March recently released our strategy memo to stop the Republican Party’s anti-women agenda — but all of our organizing plans to protect Roe v. Wade and unseat every Republican who threatens access to abortion are contingent on us having enough resources to put these into action.
This might seem like a big gap to close in three days — but if just 1/5th of the folks reading this email right now donates $5 — we can pull this off in time.
To be perfectly clear, John, the threats we've witnessed from the Supreme Court and from states across the country this past month are some of the most dire we've seen in years. It’s going to take ALL of us working together to fight back.
When Women’s Marchers took to the streets by the thousands to protest the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, it was because we knew this day would come. Republican-held state legislators have threatened for years to outlaw abortion in any way they can — and now they're closer than they've ever been thanks to the Supreme Court that Trump and McConnell stole.
Here are just a few examples of the outlandish, anti-woman legislation that's been popping up in states across the country — legislation that we at Women's March must be prepared to fight:
It's never been a more important time to fight back, John. And all of Women's March's organizing work is funded by grassroots donations — people like you reading emails like this one and donating $50, $15, or even just $3 at a time. With more on the line for women and reproductive rights than ever, we need as much support from this team as possible before our end-of-quarter deadline this Wednesday.
We must keep pushing forward.
Together,
Rachel Carmona
