It’s go time, so with no further ado, here’s your weekly to-dos Indivisibles,
It’s here! Today’s the first day of Deadline for Democracy, our massive across-the-country, multi-organization campaign to spend this Senate recess telling every senator that we demand they go back in July and pass the For the People Act with no more delays.
It’s go time, so with no further ado, here are your weekly to-dos:
Your Weekly To-dos
- Right now: Watch the Deadline for Democracy Launch Video and share it with your friends to get them to join you at an event this week or next.
- Tonight (Monday at 8 pm Eastern/5 pm Pacific): Attend the Deadline for Democracy Launch Event: In just a few hours, we’re launching the campaign with the Deadline for Democracy livestream event. Click here to RSVP for the event and we’ll send you links to watch on YouTube or Facebook.
- This Week and Next Week: Show up for a Deadline for Democracy Event. Your nearest events are listed below, or check out our event map to find one that’s most convenient for you.
- Bonus: If you haven’t yet seen it, take a second to watch Indivisible Co-Executive Director Ezra on Rachel Maddow earlier this week and then share it with a friend. It’s a little out of date now (it was from before last week’s filibuster) but it gives a great overview of the Deadline for Democracy campaign. Then if you’re feeling inspired, chip in a few bucks to help fund this week of action and all our work.

This Week on the Hill
The House and Senate are on recess this week, meaning they’re in their home states and districts for the 4th of July. That means the Hill is relatively quiet, but the districts will be hopping, which is why we’re laser-focused on Deadline for Democracy Events (see: the rest of this email.) But there are a few other things we’re watching closely.
- Supreme Court: The last few decisions from this session of the Supreme Court are likely to come down this week, and we’ll be watching them closely. And as always at the end of a session, there’s some chance of a Justice announcing their retirement. If that happens, we’ll of course be pushing for the president to nominate and the Senate to confirm quickly.
- Recovery (Reconciliation Package): Last week, Speaker Pelosi pledged that Democrats will not pass the bipartisan infrastructure deal without passing a reconciliation bill first. This is a Congressional Progressive Caucus demand that we continue to support. The reconciliation package currently includes Medicare expansion, citizenship for DACA and TPS recipients, and more of our progressive priorities. Here’s our explainer on the full package.
- Climate: Amidst some of the highest temperatures the western U.S. has ever experienced, our partners at the Sunrise Movement are holding a day of action for climate today, demanding President Biden prioritize good jobs and the climate. We are proud to support them. #NoClimateNoDeal
