John, it seems like House Democrats are fighting harder to protect themselves from the basic tenets of democracy than they are to defeating Republicans. It’s ridiculous.

The 4th most powerful Democrat in the House, Hakeem Jeffries, and one of the most conservative Democrats in Congress, Josh Gottheimer, have launched “Team Blue PAC” — a PAC specifically designed to spend big money against progressive primary challengers like Justice Democrats. Jeffries and Gottheimer claim they are doing this on behalf of Democratic Party leadership.

Wall Street, war hawks, Big Pharma, and Big Oil are spending resources to stop the next Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib from getting to Congress. Just as Justice Democrats is building power to transform politics in this country, establishment Democrats are scrambling to protect themselves and their donors.

We must step up right now to support the 3 new Justice Democrats running against the corporate incumbents Team Blue PAC will spend big money to protect. Rush a $3 donation to progressive, working-class primary challengers Odessa Kelly, Rana Abdelhamid, and Kina Collins right away. They need a big show of support today to beat the political establishment.

Team Blue PAC will be just another way for Democrats to raise and spend huge sums sent over from Wall Street, corporate donors, and the fossil fuel industry. And the whole point of the PAC is to keep Democrats in office who are PROTECTING these very same corporate interests.

It’s a vicious cycle that leads to the continuation of the status quo AND cedes power to Republicans who’d rather see the Democratic establishment spend election money protecting safe Democrats instead of winning swing district races.
