Socrates said it best.
Dear Supporter,
“When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the losers.” - Socrates Monsanto knows it’s lost the debate on Roundup weedkiller. But that hasn’t stopped the Biotech Bully and its parent company, Bayer, from slandering its opponents and gaslighting politicians and regulators. The pressure is mounting to ban glyphosate in towns and cities, in school districts and in entire countries. But Monsanto/Bayer has so much money. Money to bribe politicians. Money to buy off scientists. Money to smear anyone, including journalists, nonprofits like OCA—even moms—who dare to speak out against the Poison Cartel. Monsanto right now is gearing up to face another round of trials from plaintiffs alleging that exposure to Roundup caused them to get non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Meanwhile, some of Monsanto's more revealing and disturbing internal emails and other documents have surfaced. They’re ugly. They shed more light on Monsanto’s sinister tactics. And they target you. According to a recent news report, here’s what Bruce Chassy, a University of Illinois biochemist, wrote to Monsanto executive Dan Goldstein, about a letter posted by Zen Honeycutt on the Moms Across America website: “The funniest part about the letter is how it says my children got better when I fed them organic. There you have it. That’s your enemy. Beat the shit out of them and put them on the defensive and you won’t have this problem.” Chassy fired back: “I have been arguing for a week to beat the shit out of them and have clearly lost. We don’t want to be seen as beating up on mothers, nobody will listen to it anyway, it has to be done by third parties . . .”. And that’s exactly what Monsanto does. It hires “independent third parties” to conduct smear campaigns against those of us who speak the truth. We don’t expect the EPA or Congress to ban glyphosate anytime soon. Not as long as Monsanto keeps pouring money into the campaign coffers of regulators and politicians. But the political tide will turn. And when it does, we’ll need a massive grassroots movement, an army of people like you, to take a stand for health, for the environment, for sanity. Please don’t sit out this campaign. We need to stay strong. Thank you! P.S. When a matching donor steps up, we’re reminded of how much the Millions Against Monsanto campaign means to so many people, including those who have been harmed by Roundup. Please help us take advantage of this generous offer by making a donation by midnight PST, October 13. Thank you!
