Hi friend — it's Erica, the MDP's Voter Protection Director. In a moment, I'm going to ask you to make a contribution toward our FEC goal before Wednesday's deadline. But first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why this request is so important, especially today.

Last week, Republicans in the Michigan House rammed through final versions of two of their anti-democracy voter suppression bills.

The Republican-controlled Michigan Senate is expected to vote on it this Wednesday. It’s the last step before it would be sent to Governor Gretchen Whitmer's desk, so this is our last chance to try to block it.

Please rush a donation to the MDP's Voter Protection Fund before Wednesday's FEC deadline. Your donation will help protect the right to vote and elect Democrats up and down the ticket in 2022.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Remember: Senate Republicans are still pushing these voter suppression bills even after their Oversight Committee found no evidence of "widespread or systematic fraud."

But even if Governor Whitmer vetoes these bills, which she already declared she would, Michigan Republicans have a have a way of passing voter suppression laws that can't be vetoed by the Governor, by getting just a few hundred thousand petition signatures from their supporters.

The stakes could not be any higher. We must do everything we can to stop this legislation in its tracks, which is why your urgent donation to our Voter Protection Fund means so much in advance of Wednesday's FEC deadline.

Together in this fight,

Erica Peresman
Voter Protection Director
