Hi John,
In the early hours on this very day 52 years ago, a group of LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers did something that pushed the fight for their community's dignity and equality into a new era -- they fought back against the police raiding the Stonewall Inn.
Their resistance inspired millions to confront the violence and prejudice against LGBTQIA+ Americans. This tireless national coalition has grown over the decades and won major victories for equality.
In 2021, Run for Something is doing our part with our diverse, young progressive candidates.
By now, you've probably heard that hundreds of anti-LGBTQIA+ laws have been introduced by Republicans in state legislatures.
They're trying to codify discrimination into law and carry the far-right's torch of prejudice and ignorance into the next generation.
We refuse to let them spread their hate, to shame and marginalize trans kids, or to deny the fundamental humanity of anyone because of who they love or how they identify.
So if you can, please split a donation between our 29 endorsed LGBTQIA+ candidates to help drive progress and win equality at the state and local levels. With progressive representation, we can ensure the spirit of Stonewall continues.
Happy Pride Month everyone,
