Yes, John, you read that correctly! Alliance San Diego is going to court to challenge the San Diego City Council’s attempt to change the outcome of an election that took place well over a year ago. The City Council has refused to back down from this fraudulent effort, therefore we have no choice but take them to court in order to protect the vote. 

Alliance San Diego understands that voting rights and democracy are crucial to a healthy society. We have fought to protect voting access throughout the county. We have also fought to allow voters to cast their ballots early and safely by mail. Today, we are fighting to protect the decision that San Diego voters made in March 2020. 

Christopher Rice-Wilson, Andrea Guerrero, and plaintiff Isidro Ortiz will gather with supporters to talk about why we need to confront the city and how we came to this decision. This Thursday, July 1 at 6pm, you are invited to join our supporter briefing, Protecting Our Voice and Our Vote. We will spend the hour giving supporters crucial information about our position, our purpose, and various ways they can help us continue to protect our democracy.
