** How many end-of-the-world predictions have we endured in the last three decades?

Real Clear Energy ([link removed]) (6/24/21) column: "This month, climate change celebrates its 33rd birthday. On June 23, 1988, NASA scientist James Hansen testified that the greenhouse effect had been detected. 'Global Warming Has Begun,' The New York Times declared the next day. Indeed, it had. A year older than Alexander the Great when he died, climate change took less than one-third of a century to conquer the West. Four days earlier, the Toronto G7 had agreed that global climate change required 'priority attention.' Before the month was out, the Toronto climate conference declared that humanity was conducting an uncontrolled experiment 'whose ultimate consequences could be second only to a global nuclear war.'...The tendency to catastrophism was present at the outset of global warming. The previous year, at a secretive meeting of scientists that included the IPCC’s first chair, it had
been recognized that traditional cost-benefit analysis was inappropriate, on account of the “risk of major transformations of the world of future generations.” The logic of this argument requires that climate change be presented as potentially catastrophic—otherwise, the cure would appear worse than the putative disease."
** "Human beings haven't taken a naturally safe climate and made it unnaturally dangerous. We've taken a naturally dangerous climate and made it unnaturally safe."

In fairness, she's since revised her position because of the demand for child slave labor in Green New Deal mines.

(6/25/21) article: "President Joe Biden’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) nominee, Tracy Stone-Manning, is an ecoterrorist who demanded Americans undergo population control in the name of environmental stewardship. According to the Daily Caller Thursday, Stone-Manning featured a shirtless American baby in an ad for her graduate thesis declaring the child an 'environmental hazard.' 'Can you spot the environmental hazard in this photo?' the ad’s headline asked. 'That’s right, it’s the cute baby. Americans believe that overpopulation is only a problem somewhere else in the world. But it’s a problem here too.' Stone-Manning’s ad continues, urging Americans adopt a Chinese-style limited child policy. 'The earth is only so big, and we can tap into it only so often. In America, we tap in often and hard,' Stone-Manning wrote. 'When we overpopulate, the earth notices it more. Stop at two. It could be the best thing you do for the planet.'...Stone-Manning’s nomination had already been under fire
from Republicans for her links to episodes of ecoterrorism in Idaho."
It'll take a lot of prisons to lock up all of China.

(6/22/21) article: "A panel of 12 legal experts from around the world on Tuesday released a proposed definition for a new international crime called 'ecocide' covering 'severe' and 'widespread or long-term environmental damage' that would be prosecuted before the International Criminal Court in the Hague, alongside genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression. The panel’s announcement was seen by environmentalists and international legal scholars as a significant step in a growing global campaign to criminalize ecocide, which requires one of the court’s 123 member nations to formally request consideration of a fifth crime within the court’s purview. The process could take years to complete. 'The four existing international crimes focus on the wellbeing of human individuals and groups …and rightly so,' Philippe Sands, the noted international human rights attorney and author who co-chaired the panel, said during a virtual press conference. 'We don’t in any way wish
to diminish those vastly important crimes. But what is missing is a place for our natural world. None of the existing international criminal laws protect the environment as an end in itself, and that’s what the crime of ecocide does.'"
Tried and true.

(6/28/21) reports: "It’s not too late to buy oil and gas stocks, one chart analyst says. Though the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund and Invesco Solar ETF climbed nearly 6% and 4% last week, respectively, traditional energy names likely have more runway as oil prices hover near three-year highs, Piper Sandler’s Craig Johnson told CNBC’s 'Trading Nation' on Friday. 'I don’t think it’s too late to buy either of them. But if I’m going to buy it from a longer-term perspective, I’m going to favor the XLE over TAN,' the firm’s senior technical research analyst said. 'We’re just starting to push back above this $54 level, and a move back above $54 is going to open up the door for a ... leg higher back up into the mid-60s,' he said."
