It's Payback Time: Our May/June Issue Panel
Now available to watch!
Â
In our May/June issue, Helping Families Rise
, we explored three different public
payment programs, assessing whether or not the government can get us out
of our economic depression with strong systems like these.
In this panel, we brought contributors Kalena Thomhave and Bryce Covert,
Staff Writer Alexander Sammon, and Managing Editor Jonathan Guyer into
conversation to reassess the welfare system and dig further into the
concepts of UBI, cash benefits, and the child tax credit.
This panel is now available to all our readers to watch - just click

Fixing Section 230: Protecting the Public While Promoting Free
Expression
Happening tomorrow! - Tuesday, June 29th
12pm E.T.
Â
Â
There's no doubt that Section 230 plays an important role in the
structure of the Internet. But the 26-word provision faces calls for
amendment to address the fact that online platforms have no legal
incentive to curb illicit and toxic content, and harmed individuals have
no recourse in court. The panelists in this session will outline the
original goals of Section 230, the problems that have arisen as a result
of court interpretation, and proposals for revising the provision.
Moderated by: American Prospect Executive Editor David Dayen
Featured panelists:
* Peter Harter, formerly with Netscape
* Roger Cochetti, formerly with IBM
* Hemanshu Nigan, formerly with MySpace
This panel is part of a series
