Friend,

A nationwide survey of beekeepers just reported that nearly half of all
bee colonies died last year.

It's the second-largest bee die-off since records began in 2006.

This story should have been headline news all over the country. After
all, bees pollinate one out of every three bites of food you eat. It's
this simple: no bees, no food.

But unless you're a reader of Common Dreams, chances are you didn't hear
about it at all—and the lack of coverage has a direct and deadly
consequence. Because no one is hearing about it, there's no political
will to do anything, and so far, Joe Biden's EPA isn't doing much more
about bee-killing pesticides than Donald Trump did.

Common Dreams was founded not just to describe the world, but to change
it. And we make ecological disasters like the massive global bee die-off
front-page news because they are an existential threat not only to bees,
but to humanity and the natural world overall.
