We’re just a few days out from our big quarterly fundraising deadline, folks. I know my team has emailed you a couple times about this deadline already, so I want to take a minute to explain why it’s so important.

At the end of each fiscal quarter, our campaign fundraising numbers become publicly available through the FEC. And as soon as that happens, politicos, pundits, and the media pore through our forms to see how strong our movement is — and those working to reverse our progress will look for any vulnerabilities they can exploit.

Fundraising deadlines also help us plan our budget for the coming months. After each quarter, my team and I sit down and determine our spending for the next three months.

If we don’t reach our fundraising goal in time, we scale down our budget and pull back on our investments — like supporting Democrats in local and frontline races.

My team just told me we’re still $17,029 away from meeting our quarterly goal, but the good news is that we still have time to catch up.
