Another busy week is complete! To keep you updated, I want to provide a brief overview of the important things taking place in District 59.

But first, a reminder that COVID-19 vaccines are available to all Floridians aged 12 and over. To find a vaccination site near you, please visit floridahealthcovid19.gov. Or simply text your zipcode to 438829.

Disaster in Surfside

As you may know, on Thursday, a horrible tragedy occurred in Surfside when a high-rise residential condo complex partially collapsed. According to local officials, there are five confirmed deaths, and 156 people are still missing. I am devastated for everyone impacted and thankful to our first responders working tirelessly on the front lines.

Governor Signs Aquaculture Bill

This week Governor DeSantis signed my aquaculture bill into law. The legislation supports our local clam farmers, allowing them to remain competitive in the marketplace and continue producing the best clams in the United States! I firmly believe in finding common ground to deliver good policy that benefits our community, and this bill accomplishes that goal.

Ambassador for Change Award

On Friday, my colleague Rep. Toledo and I were awarded the Ambassador for Change award from 21 and Change Florida. They are a wonderful, nonprofit organization that promotes inclusion, education, and human rights for alternatively abled people. I'm proud to win this award and excited to continue working with our local nonprofit community. Click here to learn more about 21 and Change Florida.

Team Andrew Hosts Canvassing Kickoff

We also held our 2022 Re-Election Campaign Canvassing Kickoff event this weekend. Volunteers from all across the Brandon area showed up to knock on doors and connect with voters directly about the issues that matter to them. When running a grassroots campaign in a swing district, canvassing is essential to winning elections. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, and we will be scheduling more canvassing events soon!

In-Person Town Hall, June 30th

Join me Wednesday, June 30th, for an in-person town hall at Your Pie in Brandon (Note: the entrance on Bloomingdale is closed, and you will need to enter from John Moore Road). The town hall will also be available through zoom and streamed live on Facebook for those who cannot attend.

I'll answer questions directly from constituents, those submitted via email, and the ones that come in live on the stream. If you would like to participate via zoom, please click here to register in advance, and someone from my team will be in touch!

*Attendees can ask questions at the event. Otherwise, you can submit questions via Facebook Messenger or by emailing [email protected].
