I am proud to count Senator Kirsten Gillibrand as a friend. She is an inexhaustible advocate for women, families and children, with a knack for actually getting things done in Washington.

Kirsten, with her PAC, Off the Sidelines, is on a mission to get more progressive women in Congress. When she asked me to help with their mission to elect more women to Congress, it was an offer I was proud to accept.

Women marched, ran for office, made political donations, and voted in record numbers in 2020. Yet women candidates—particularly women of color—face a unique set of challenges, biases and expectations when they make the decision to step up and run.

Off the Sidelines helps to fill in the gaps by recruiting, mentoring and financially supporting women candidates for Congress. It’s absolutely vital work, and I’m proud to support it. 

Off the Sidelines has a major fundraising deadline coming up at the end of this month—and Kirsten’s team let me know that they need to raise another $12,000 today to stay on track.
