Folks, I want to share with you what it’s like being the first Democrat to win re-election in a traditionally Republican district in nearly 100 years.

Everywhere I go, Republicans follow. GOP trackers record every word I speak. The National Republican Congressional Committee scrutinizes my every move. The chair of the Republican National Committee even lives in my district.

And they’re all looking for any opportunity to distort my record and spread lies about the campaign we’ve built.

The Cook Political Report gave my district a partisan ranking of R+2. Now, the NRCC thinks they can undermine our campaign with non-stop attacks.

But I know the voters in Michigan’s 11th District aren’t buying it.

We came together in 2018 and built a movement that flipped this seat blue for the first time in a generation. Then we beat the odds and held this battleground seat in 2020 -- even as Trump held rallies right here in our district.

Republicans only need to flip 5 seats to flip the House red, and they’re betting mine will be one of them. They’re launching everything they’ve got at us to distract from the issues this race is really about.

Because national Republicans aren’t interested in the people of Michigan’s 11th District or what we’ve accomplished together over the past three and a half years -- they’re interested in stealing back as many seats as they can to strip us of our House majority and shut down our progress.

That’s why I’m humbly asking you to help us show them we won’t be scared off by their attacks. Make a donation of $10, $25, or whatever you can before our critical FEC deadline.

National Republicans act as if I stole this seat from them -- as if it should naturally be theirs.

But this seat doesn’t belong to national Republicans. And it doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to the people.

So let’s show them the power of the people. Help us hit our FEC goal and let them know this seat isn’t theirs for the taking.
