I want to make sure you know about a Senate race that is absolutely crucial if we are going to hold the Senate. I'm talking about reelecting my good friend Sen. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire.

Maggie Hassan's race went down to the wire in 2016. Dark money and Republican special interest groups poured millions of dollars into New Hampshire to try to beat her — and they almost succeeded. When the dust settled, Sen. Hassan won by just 1,017 votes.

Now, with Democrats holding a razor-thin Senate majority, Republicans are doing whatever they can to win this seat. That's why I'm asking you today to join me in supporting Sen. Maggie Hassan.

It's only been six months since Democrats took the Senate, but already the immense progress Senate Democrats have made is on the line. It started with fierce GOP opposition to the American Rescue Plan, to voting rights legislation, and to other Biden administration priorities. Now Senate Republicans are making it clear their plan is to block Democrats at every turn and take back the majority in 2022.

Candidly, if Republicans flip New Hampshire, our shot at holding the majority is just about zero. I know Maggie has what it takes to win, but the truth is, she needs our help now if she's going to be ready for the attacks that are headed her way.
