I know your inbox has probably been flooded with emails from campaigns asking you to donate before the FEC end-of-quarter deadline on June 30. And in a moment, we’re going to ask you to make a donation, too — but first, let me explain why your grassroots contribution is so important.

I know what you're thinking, “Why give now?” The next election is more than a year away, and Democrats already control Congress and the White House.

But here’s the thing: we can't take anything for granted. Michigan Republicans are hellbent on ramming through their voter suppression bills to rig elections in their favor. We can't sit by and let these threats to our democracy stand.

So it’s critical that we stay on track in our fundraising efforts to fully fund our organizing and voter protection programs.

But it’s going to take all of us to finally put the Big Lie to rest and defend our voting rights. So can you pitch in $5 or $10 before Wednesday's FEC deadline to help Democrats defend our democracy?
