We have good news and bad news, John. The bad news is that according to our research, the more time you spend on social media sites like Facebook and YouTube, the more likely you are to fall prey to disinformation – that is, to believe conspiracy theories and outright lies spread with malicious intent.
And we know that purveyors of disinformation are specifically targeting the Latinx community, including with Spanish-language content.
But here's the good news: Voto Latino is fighting back (and you can help)! We launched the Latino Anti-Disinformation Lab, a two-year campaign to analyze trends in disinformation and figure out how we can inoculate our communities. This is the largest anti-disinformation effort for Latinxs in American history – but we need your help to fully fund it. Will you pitch in today?

You may know someone, perhaps an older relative, who believes that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump, or that the COVID vaccine will make you magnetic (what?!). That's because there are forces out there spreading these lies and conspiracy theories – and not countering them is dangerous.
See, disinformation about the 2020 election is driving Republicans' attacks on voting rights in 48 states. It's also helping to convince people, including Latinxs, that everything the Biden administration does – like promoting the vaccine – is harmful. If we don't inoculate our community against these lies, not only will that make folks less safe, but it could lead to a massive Democratic loss in the next election – a disaster for our country.
That's why our Latino Anti-Disinformation Lab project is so important, and why we need to be able to count on you. Can you pitch in now, whatever amount you can, to help us fund it?
