Friend -- I want to draw your attention to what President Obama said this week about protecting the freedom to vote:

"Obama warned... that American democracy may not survive without some of these voting protections in place, invoking the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob as an example of what can happen when democratic norms are tested.

'We can’t wait until the next election, because if we have the same kinds of shenanigans that brought about Jan. 6, if we have that for a couple more election cycles, we’re going to have real problems in terms of our democracy long-term,' Obama said."

The fact is, the same Republican senators who blocked a full investigation into the January 6 insurrection are now blocking legislation to protect the freedom to vote. That's not a coincidence: Too many Republicans no longer believe in democracy or the rule of law.

But we do, and we're committed to fighting for both, at the federal level as well as in the states.

Friend, the NDRC will be here for as long as it takes, but we need resources as we continue to demand an end to Republican voter suppression, gerrymandering, and other undemocratic practices. Can you answer President Obama's call and pitch in now?

Thanks,
Garrett
