Hi John --
Elections matter. If you don't believe that, look no further than Georgia senator Raphael Warnock, who gave an impassioned speech on the Senate floor earlier this week about voter suppression and the need to protect the right to vote for every American.
Standing to speak in the Senate, Warnock said, “I sincerely believe that what we do or fail to do will have long-lasting and far-reaching implications for the health, viability and vitality of the world's greatest democracy.” He defended the principles of our democracy, denounced Republicans' radical efforts to suppress voters, and criticized fellow senators who have hidden behind the filibuster.
Raphael Warnock is a perfect example of what Democrats want to see in our elected leaders -- strong principles and the courage to fight for them.
The Republicans and their extreme, anti-democratic base want to take back power to rig the election system in their favor, and it couldn't be more clear that their number one priority is Georgia, where they will give everything to beat Sen. Warnock.
John, the first step in protecting our democracy this cycle is defending Raphael Warnock's seat and securing our Senate majority. Sen. Warnock won by just TWO points in January. Republicans will use every trick in their playbook to unseat him, so we need Democrats to be all in to keep Georgia blue.
There's a lot on the line in this race and this cycle, but our fundraising has plummeted in recent weeks, and we're $2,432 short of our goal to protect the Senate and vulnerable Democrats like Raphael Warnock.
