** FNUSA Takes Action on HUD NOFA
------------------------------------------------------------

In early September, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) abruptly cancelled a funding opportunity ([link removed][UNIQID]) that would provide housing services to survivors of human trafficking. Safe, affordable housing remains one of the most critical needs for survivors. This HUD housing program was designed to address those gaps by providing services to survivors today and creating best practices to expand services in the future.

FNUSA is working to find out what happened to thiscrucial funding ([link removed][UNIQID]) . While the grant opportunity has been updated from "cancelled" to "postponed," its future is still unclear. The federal government must maintain transparency in the grant-making process and allocate all of the money appropriated on victim services. Today survivors of human trafficking will not benefit from this 16 million dollars of housing funding. We will continue to fight to see that they do.

** Housing Solutions for Male Survivors of Trafficking
------------------------------------------------------------

Freedom Network Training Institute delivered this webinar in late September. Identifying and accessing housing options for male survivors can be difficult. Shelters and housing programs often cater to female survivors of trafficking, excluding boys and men. This webinar addresses practical ways service providers can be more responsive to the needs of male survivors and explore housing options that have been useful for male survivors after exiting a trafficking situation.
